Complaints

A parent who is uneasy about any aspect of the group’s provision should first of all talk over any worries and anxieties with the playgroup leader. If this does not have a satisfactory outcome or if the problem recurs, the parent should put the concerns or complaint in writing and request a meeting with the playgroup leader and the chairperson of the management committee.

Discipline and Child Management

We believe in young children’s growing ability to control their own lives, to make choices and accept responsibility for their actions. We also believe that all children have the right to expect positive approaches to discipline which are consistent with these goals. Smacking or any punishment that humiliates, that attacks children’s sense of self and makes them feel helpless, is damaging and is NEVER permitted. We endeavour to develop and implement positive policies which foster self-esteem and respect, tolerance and self-control.

Equal Opportunities

We promote equal opportunities through a wide range of policies and procedures which are reflected in the practice of our early years setting. We believe that the Group’s activities should be open to all children and families and to all adults committed to their welfare.
