{"id":97,"date":"2013-10-18T13:02:41","date_gmt":"2013-10-18T13:02:41","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.kilmoodplaygroup.org.uk\/?page_id=97"},"modified":"2013-10-21T19:49:16","modified_gmt":"2013-10-21T19:49:16","slug":"aims-and-values","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/www.kilmoodplaygroup.org.uk\/index.php\/about-us\/aims-and-values\/","title":{"rendered":"Aims and Values"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2>Our Aims<\/h2>\n<p>It is the aim of this Playgroup that all children should be given opportunities to:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Grow in self-confidence, experience success and thus develop a good self image.<\/li>\n<li>Develop at their own rate through challenging, progressive play.<\/li>\n<li>Learn to play co-operatively and share with others.<\/li>\n<li>Communicate thoughts, ideas and feelings clearly to both adults and children.<\/li>\n<li>Deepen and lengthen concentration through their natural spontaneous curiosity and interests.<\/li>\n<li>Choose and explore a wide range of materials which allow them to express themselves appropriately and creatively.<\/li>\n<li>Share in the wonder and excitement created by books, stories, songs, rhymes, music and the natural environme.<\/li>\n<li>Appreciate and practise social skills and learning to care for others.<\/li>\n<li>Enjoy the satisfaction of work well done and share this with their parents.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>Our Values<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>Young children are entitled to their childhood.<\/li>\n<li>All children are treated equally.<\/li>\n<li>As well as the primary needs, the need for acceptance, love, approval, encouragement and security are crucial to the development of the young child and to the promotion of a good self-image.<\/li>\n<li>Parents are valued as their children&#8217;s first educators and are viewed as active partners of the playgroup staff.<\/li>\n<li>It is in the nature of the young child to be active.
